Dartmoor provides the finest moorland walking in the south of England, plus excellent walking through the woods and farmland around the fringe of the moor. This guide covers the northern half (ie, north of a line between Tavistock and Bovey Tracey). The individual walks are all less than seven miles/11kms in length, but some can be strung together to make longer routes. Highlights include the walks south of Okehampton, Fingle Bridge & Castle Drogo and the short climb to Haytor Rocks.
